Market Trend of LCD Televisions
LCDs presence in the consumer market has increased rapidly with time. This is probably the only technology available which could be sought by both the upper class and middle class alike. When most of the upper class moved on get the 40” -50” screens, the middle man moved from its old CRT model to buy the 30” LCD models. These LCDs have catered to almost all the classes leaving the BPLs and lower middle class.
Most of the prominent manufactures like Sony, Sharp, LG, Panasonic and Samsung have announced larger model sizes. Sharp announced the manufacture of the 65” model in the year 2004; on the other hand Samsung announced a much wider LCD panel of 82” in the year 2005 early. Neither was LG behind, as it brought in the 100” LCD television in the year 2006 August, and Sharp brought in the 108” LCD (AQUOS) in the year 2007.
None could have ever imagined televisions of such huge sizes ever, but now it is a reality. Probably we would find some day, televisions as big as those found in the theatre halls, though the mini theatre systems are already in the market.
