Working Principle of LCD Televisions

LCD TV or the Liquid crystal display televisions have become pretty common these days with almost all the houses having the same. It is not just the hype created about it, but also the clarity and the better vision it provides which has made it a customer puller. Today you would find more than 45% of the population having this same at their homes. Almost all the malls and showrooms have the same. So what’s so much about this right? Let’s delve a bit to know what this LCD TV is all about.

LCD TV’s use the liquid crystal display technology to create images on the screen. These televisions are much thinner and lighter than the ordinary CRT (cathode ray television) television sets, Apart from this, it is also available is much larger sizes unlike that of the CRT models.

When LCD’s were introduced in the market, the same were highly priced and hence were used or brought only by the movers and shakers of the society, but with the decrease in the manufacturing cost, it has become available for the middle class as well.

It was in the year 2007 when LCD TV’s sales exceeded that of the CRT models, and has since then maintained the steady positive sloped graph.
